Benches
A Robinia log was salvaged from someones garden and then split into halves. Many years later, they were turned into these benches.
Robinia/ Pseudo Acacia wood is extremely hard, so a simple and efficient leg design was needed. The legs, made of chestnut, seemingly "carry" the logs, but the actual joinery is quite complex. They also have a small foot which is joined by a hidden sliding dovetail variation.
The outsides of the logs have been charred and then sanded smooth which causes colorvariations from dark-brown to pitch-black.
